To celebrate the 50^th Anniversary of one of the most iconic rocket launches, Astropical created this beautiful replica of the engineering masterpiece that is the Saturn V. Launched on the 16^th of July 1969 from the Kennedy Space Center, the Saturn V used five F-1 rockets and 20 tons (40,000 pounds) of fuel PER SECOND to propel the first humans out of Earth’s atmosphere and finally enable them to land on the Moon.

At the time, Saturn V rockets were the tallest, heaviest and most powerful rockets ever built. It was powered by fuel made of a mixture of chemicals that burned to produce hot gasses. These gasses would steam out of the rocket’s engine nozzles, propelling the rocket upward with 7.5 million pounds (3.4 million kilograms) of thrust.
